Terms of Use – Fidelix API

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern the access to and use of the Fidelix Application Programming Interface (“API”) provided by Fidelix Tech Oy (“Fidelix”). The API is only for authorized integration partners, systems integrators, and internal use by Fidelix customers (“Users”). Unauthorized access or use is strictly prohibited. By using the API, the User is bound by these Terms. You as the User represent and warrant that you (i) have read and understand the Terms and (ii) agree, on behalf of the company you represent to the Terms.
1 Purpose of Use
The API provides access to real-time and historical data from Fidelix’s local building automation systems. The API supports two main use cases:
- Reading data: Retrieve real-time and historical data from the building automation system.
- Writing data: Set or update the values of specific datapoints in the system.
2 Usage Restrictions
To ensure performance and reliability for all Users, the following guidelines apply:
- Request Frequency:
- Real-time data retrieval: maximum 1 request per 10 seconds per API key
- Historical data retrieval: maximum 1 request per 5 minutes per API key, with the maximum historical period length being 1 hour
- Writing data: maximum 1 request per 10 seconds per API key
- General Conduct:
- Do not attempt to bypass authentication or access controls
- Do not overload the API with high-frequency or repetitive queries
- Do not use automated scripts or bots for mass data extraction or updates without prior written approval from Fidelix
- Do not interfere with or disrupt the API infrastructure
Fidelix may set restrictions by contacting the User individually or change the restrictions at any time.
3 Security
Access to the API requires authentication through credentials (e.g., API key or token) provided by Fidelix. The User is responsible for the confidential handling of their credentials and any activities that occur under the User’s account. Sharing of credentials with third parties is strictly prohibited.
4 Warranty & Liability
The API is provided without commitment and “as is”. Hence, Fidelix does not provide any warranties, either express or implied, including, but not limited to, the availability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement or that the API and/or data will be accessible on an uninterrupted, secure, or error-free basis. For example, availability may be affected by system maintenance, capacity limits, or technical issues.
Fidelix is not liable for any direct or indirect damages, including but not limited to data loss, loss of profits or business interruption, resulting from or relating to these Terms and the use or unavailability of the API or data.
5 Modifications and Termination
Fidelix reserves the right to:
- Modify or update these Terms at any time
- Limit or suspend access to the API
- Terminate API access for any user that violates these Terms or uses the API in a harmful or disruptive manner
Modified or updated Terms will be posted on the same website where the API and these Terms are made available.
6 Applicable law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Finland, excluding its choice of law provisions.
