Six modules to expand your input/output capacity
FdxCompact I/O modules complement a Fidelix controller with exactly the type of points your installation requires. Six module types cover the four main signal categories:
- DI-16-C — 16 digital inputs for status indication, alarms, or pulse counting
- AI-8-C — 8 analog inputs for resistive sensors, 0(4)-20 mA, and 0(2)-10 V signals
- DO-8-C — 8 changeover relay outputs for control loops
- DOOC-16-C — 16 open-collector outputs (100 mA) for driving power relays
- AO-8-C — 8 analog outputs, 0-10 V, adjustable in 0.01 V increments
- TRIAC-8-C — 8 TRIAC outputs, 24 VAC, modulated from 0 to 100%
No power or bus wiring between modules
This is what sets the FdxCompact format apart. Each module snaps onto a DIN rail connector that provides both 24 VDC power and the Modbus communication bus. No separate power or bus wiring is required between modules. FdxCompact controllers provide both power and bus natively; alternatively, the Fdx-Terminal-C kit supplies the necessary connectors. Installation is tool-free: simply tilt the module with the rounded corner toward the rail and slide it into place until it clicks. Wiring is completed using push-in spring terminals.
Fast commissioning
The Modbus address can be set from 1 to 63 using DIP switches. Communication speed does not require configuration, as each module automatically detects the bus speed up to 57,600 bit/s. A 120-ohm termination resistor is installed on the last module in the RS-485 network. Each channel features status LEDs that display the actual operating state, making it possible to verify system operation without test instruments.
A common form factor
All FdxCompact I/O modules share the same compact dimensions: 134 × 78 mm, 19 mm thick, 22.5 mm installation width, and a weight of 90 g. They operate on 24 VDC ±10% and typically consume approximately 25 mA per module, excluding output loads. Operating temperature range is 0 to +40°C. Terminal blocks are removable channel by channel, or in two-channel groups on the 16-channel modules.
Compatible with any BMS
The modules communicate using Modbus RTU over RS-485 serial communication. They can be used with Fidelix controllers or as expansion modules for building management system (BMS) controllers from other manufacturers.
